Built about 20 years ago Castle of Ravadinovo presents a fantastic realization of a person's dream. Being a very unusual building in a very unusual place the complex is a bit of everything: a bit of a fairy tale, a little bit strange, a little bit kitschy, a little bit of magic. The castle bizarrely stands in the middle of a farm field, just a stone-throw from the highway. This is really not an authentic historical building (even it is still in process of completion), but it was built with attention to the small details, so it looks like a real medieval castle.
There are many gardens, landscaped alleys and green areas where you can just stroll. You can stop by the lake, watch the graceful swans for a while and to take some nice pictures of them. There is a chapel, plentiful fancy fountains, garden statues, antiques, tiny bridges a wine celler and a bar in the complex.
The Castle of Ravadinovo is a bold combination of various building and decorating styles and materials but it is definitely fun to see what some ancient castles must have looked like when they were new.
