Varna is one of the most interesting cities in Bulgaria. The city and its area are rich of ancient historical and religious landmarks. Visit the Orthodox cathedral- one of the symbols of the city and the amaizing rocky monastery Aladzha.
Will start the spiritual tour with a visit to Aladzha rocky monastery (25 km from Varna). Dated to 10th c., the monastery complex charms with the amazing frescoes of the cells in the rocks and gives to the area of the Golden Sands Nature Reserve a special atmosphere.
The continuations of the Christian traditions leads to the centre of Varna where the beautiful city Orthodox cathedral is situated. Built in 1880 shortly after the Liberation of the Ottoman rule the cathedral presents a masterpiece of the local religious art of the 19th c. Pretty paintings, icons and frescoes, lighted candles and church silence and peace- this is what the cathedral offers to the visitors able to appreciate it.
