Balchik is one of the most picturesque seaside towns in Bulgaria. Its beauty captivated Queen Marie of Romania, who chose this place for her summer residence known as the “Quiet Nest”. Today, the Palace and the Botanical Garden are among the most impressive attractions on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The garden is famous for its rich cactus collection – the second largest in Europe after Monaco – as well as its romantic terraces and breathtaking sea views.
The excursion continues along the scenic Northern Black Sea coast to Cape Kaliakra – one of the most dramatic and legendary places in Bulgaria. The red cliffs rise more than 70 metres above the sea and hide stories from ancient times. Here you will hear the legend of the 40 Bulgarian maidens who chose freedom over captivity.
You will also visit the natural phenomenon Pobiti Kamani, also known as the “Stone Forest” – a mysterious desert landscape filled with unique stone columns. It is the only natural formation of its kind in Europe.

08:00 – Departure from Sunny Beach towards Balchik.
10:30 – Visit to the Botanical Garden and the Palace of Queen Marie of Romania, known as the “Quiet Nest”. Free time for walks through the beautiful gardens, wine tasting and panoramic sea views.
13:30 – Optional lunch.
14:30 – Scenic drive along the Northern Black Sea coast to Cape Kaliakra. Visit to the fortress and photo stop at the spectacular cliffs above the sea.
16:30 – Visit to the Stone Forest (Pobiti Kamani). Walk among the mysterious stone columns reaching up to 7 metres in height.
17:30 – Departure back to Sunny Beach.
